- Pick the bold script variant for anything that needs to read at body-text size: the heavier weight holds its strokes together and stays legible on a phone bio or a post thumbnail where lighter calligraphy would blur.
- Calligraphy styles suit profile names, wedding digital invitations, and aesthetic headers: a single styled line in a heavy script looks deliberate; a whole paragraph in it reads slowly.
- Preview in both light and dark themes if you use the text in a profile: the contrast of thin calligraphic strokes looks different on a dark background than on a light one, and a style that works in one theme may become hard to read in the other.
Common mistakes
- Writing a long paragraph in calligraphy: formal scripts are not designed for running text at normal reading size. They were made for short phrases read at a deliberate pace, and a full paragraph in them is fatiguing.
- Using a light calligraphy style for a gaming tag or a name that will be read at small size: thin strokes at small rendering sizes become indistinguishable from each other on a phone screen.
