Assamese Font & Text Generator
Assamese shares its script with Bangla, right down to the same Unicode block, which means it also shares the same gap: no bold, italic or cursive alphabet was ever built for it. A name like নমস্কাৰ gets wrapped in decorative frames and symbol dividers here instead, the approach that survives a copy-paste into Instagram or WhatsApp when letter-styling has nowhere to go.

Preview real Assamese fonts
Type once and see your words in every Bengali-Assamese font below. Assamese and Bangla share one Unicode block, so the same open faces render both correctly, including the two letters (ৰ and ৱ) that are specific to Assamese. Copying gives you the plain Assamese text: a font is applied on your own page, so each open font links to where you can use it, and legacy desktop fonts are marked.

A short guide
Understanding Assamese fonts
What are Assamese fonts, and why do Bangla fonts work for Assamese?
Assamese is written in the Bengali-Assamese script, also called Eastern Nagari, the same Unicode block used for Bangla. Unicode's own documentation states plainly that the Bangla block "supports the modern Assamese orthography." Two letters are specific to Assamese, ৰ (ra) and ৱ (wa), and both are already part of that same Unicode block rather than living somewhere separate, which is why a font built for Bangla renders Assamese correctly without any extra work.
Unicode fonts versus legacy fonts like Bijoy
This is the most useful thing to know, and most font lists skip it. Bijoy is a legacy font still common in older Bengali and Assamese desktop publishing; it maps script shapes onto English keyboard positions, so the text underneath is really Latin and cannot be searched or copied reliably between apps. Vrinda, the font Windows bundles, is genuinely Unicode, and Microsoft names it as the default for Bengali-script languages including Assamese specifically.
Unicode fonts such as Noto Sans Bengali, Hind Siliguri and Anek Bangla store real Bengali-Assamese text, including both Assamese-specific letters. The text works everywhere: in search, in messages, on any device. Unless an old workflow specifically needs Bijoy, type in a Unicode font and your Assamese will behave like Assamese rather than like a picture of it.
Which Assamese font should I choose?
It depends on what you are setting. This table pairs common needs with a free, open Unicode face:
| If you are setting | A good open choice |
|---|---|
| Headings and posters | Baloo Da 2 |
| Body text and articles | Noto Serif Bengali or Tiro Bangla |
| Apps, websites and signage | Noto Sans Bengali, Hind Siliguri or Anek Bangla |
| A friendly, handwritten note | Atma |
If an old document forces you to use a legacy font like Bijoy, install it on your computer. For anything new, a Unicode font will serve you better everywhere the text has to travel.

Step by step
How to use the Assamese Stylish Name Generator
Type your text, pick a decorated version, copy it, and paste it wherever you want stylish Assamese names.
Type your text
Type or paste your text into the box at the top. Every decorated version updates live as you type, so you are looking at your own words rather than a sample.
Pick a version you like
Each result is a different treatment: a frame around the text, a line through it, an underline, and more. Pick whichever one fits.
Copy it
Press Copy on that version. It goes to your clipboard exactly as shown, including every symbol and combining mark.
Paste it
Paste it into your bio, caption, or name field. Because it is built from real Unicode, the decoration travels with the text into apps with no font settings of their own.
Or browse the font families
Further down the page is a gallery of real fonts in this script. Those are previews to look at rather than copy-paste Unicode, with a link to each font if you want to use it in a design tool.

Tips and common mistakes
Tips
- Assamese script is closely related to Bangla and shares the same Unicode limitation: no bold or italic Assamese alphabet exists, so framing is the approach that works for digital display names.
- Test your framed Assamese name in WhatsApp and Instagram Name (30 chars max): those are the primary platforms where Assamese display names appear.
- Simpler frames (a single bracket on each side) look cleanest with Assamese text, which has a distinctive circular letter style that does not need heavy framing to stand out.
Common mistakes
- Expecting bold or italic Assamese letters: no Unicode decorative Assamese alphabet exists, and framing is the only styling available.
- Putting an Assamese frame into a @username: @handles only accept ASCII characters on all major platforms.
- Using the character count as a proxy for visual length: Assamese vowel marks and modifiers add to the code-point count without adding visually distinct characters, so a name that counts as 20 characters may look shorter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make my Assamese name bold or italic?
Not by changing the letters, because Unicode has no bold or italic Bengali-Assamese alphabet to swap them for. You can frame the name with symbols, or add strikethrough and underline, which are the effects that work on this script. The font gallery below also previews your text in real Assamese typefaces.
Will these Assamese names work on Instagram and Facebook?
Yes, in the Name and Bio fields, which accept any Unicode, so a framed Assamese name pastes straight in. They will not go in an Instagram @username, which is limited to Latin letters, numbers, full stops and underscores.
Is Assamese the same script as Bangla?
They share one Unicode block. Unicode's own documentation states that the Bangla block "supports the modern Assamese orthography," with two Assamese-specific letters, ৰ and ৱ, included in that same block. A font built for Bangla, including every font shown on this page, renders Assamese correctly.
Is the Assamese Stylish Name Generator free to use?
Yes. The Assamese Stylish Name Generator is completely free with no sign-up, no watermarks, and no limits on how much text you convert or how many times you copy it.
